Major Car Accidents in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
According to research and data gathered from Pennsylvania roadways in 2014, rear-end collisions were the second most common kind of accident involving two vehicles. Every motorist in Pennsylvania should exercise extra caution on the roads since over 20,000 multi-vehicle accidents occur every year in the Commonwealth.
The careless driver usually causes rear-end crashes. In Pennsylvania, the leading cause of rear-end collisions is drivers disobeying traffic signals by proceeding through stop signs. The at-fault party in a rear-end collision may not always be so easy to identify, but there are times when it’s crystal clear who did what.
After a collision, the rear of a car is often forgotten about. However, these accidents may be just as lethal as head-on ones. Minor rear-end crashes may still do a lot of harm.
When you’re in a rear-end accident, the other car’s speed of contact greatly affects how badly you’re hurt. The leading cause of rear-end crashes is a driver’s quick stop or halt, which is met by a collision with the vehicle behind. The momentum of the automobile in front of you helps move your vehicle ahead. After buckling in, a seatbelt forces the passenger to recline backward. When traveling at high speeds, crashing into a seat or headrest may have serious effects that may not become apparent until hours or days later.
The person at fault should pay for your medical bills and missed wages if you were critically harmed in a rear-end incident that wasn’t your fault.
Regrettably, insurance companies may do everything in their power to avoid paying for long-term care or compensation for lost income and lost earning potential in the case of a handicap caused by an auto accident.
