Philadelphia, PA (November 10, 2022) – On Wednesday morning, November 9th, officers reported to the scene of an accident involving a SEPTA bus in the northbound lanes of I-95, just before the exit to Broad Street.
The serious accident involving a SEPTA bus occurred around 4:00 a.m. The Girard Point Bridge was backed up, and traffic cameras revealed that the area near the Platt Bridge was also jammed as a result of the incident.
Due to the collision, commuters driving into Center City saw significant delays starting near Philadelphia International Airport.
Lanes were momentarily closed and reopened, but at the time of the last report, just a single lane was moving. At least one person seemed to be transported to a nearby hospital by emergency medical technicians who were also seen on the site, though the current condition of that victim is unknown.
Officers of the Philadelphia Police Department have said that they are currently investigating the reason for the collision.
