Philadelphia, PA (April 4, 2022) – Serious injuries were reported in a pedestrian crash that took place at a Philadelphia intersection on Monday morning, April 4.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Broad Street and Girard Avenue. A man was walking across the street near the intersection when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle that was traveling through the intersection at the same time. It is believed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Several local Philadelphia responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 62-year-old male pedestrian was rushed to Jefferson Hospital with severe injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the collision.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
