Philadelphia, PA (December 25, 2024) – Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who they say fatally struck a pedestrian on Christmas Day in Philadelphia.
Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 300 block of Snyder Avenue around 9:00 p.m. for reports of a crash. Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters a man believed to be in his 40s was walking on Snyder Avenue when he was hit by an oncoming car.
The man, who police have not been able to identify, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. Witnesses told police the hit-and-run car is believed to be a silver sedan with some front-end damage. It’s unclear if anybody else was involved or hurt in the incident. However, no further details have been provided, and an investigation is still ongoing.
