Philadelphia, PA (February 27, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a highway in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon, February 27.
According to officers with the Philadelphia Police Department, the accident happened around 12:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-76 around the area of City Avenue and Belmont Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. It is believed that one or more lost control, causing the forceful collision. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries in the collision. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, two right lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
