Old Bridge, NJ (January 28, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash that took place at an intersection in Old Bridge on Friday morning, January 28.
Middlesex County officials confirmed that the accident happened at 1:25 a.m. at the intersection of NJ-9 and Ferry Road. A 69-year-old man was walking across the road at the intersection when he was suddenly struck by several vehicles that were also traveling through the intersection. It is not known how many stopped and remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was severely injured due to the collision. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
