Middletown, NJ (May 19, 2023) – On Thursday night, May 18, Middletown officers and local EMS crews responded to a four-vehicle wreck on Route 36.
The accident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Belford junction of Route 36 and East Road, closing Route 36 for several hours.
Although Middletown Police have not verified the details, EMTs apparently noted that the incident was caused by a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Route 36. Two persons were hurt in the wreck and taken by ambulance from the scene to Riverview Medical Center.
It’s not clear whether any citations or charges will be filed. Middletown Township Police will continue to investigate the accident in the interim.
We are thinking about the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
