Manchester, NJ (June 12, 2024) – According to the Manchester Township Police Department, officers responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of County Route 571 and Beacon Street on Sunday, June 9, where at least one person sustained serious injuries.
At approximately 1:10 p.m., officers reported to the site and discovered that the collision involved a motorcycle and an automobile. Upon their arrival, the officers observed a 30-year-old man with a severe head injury, and he was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune via medevac helicopter, where he is currently listed as critical.
Additionally, officers found that a silver 2004 Toyota Camry and a 2024 black Kawasaki Vulcan S motorcycle, which the victim operated, had collided. Police allege that the Toyota swerved into the motorcyclist’s travel lane, causing him to lose control of his bike and spin out. EMTs from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, Ridgeway Volunteer and Manchester Volunteer Fire Departments firefighters, and Life Flight assisted. However, the incident remains under investigation, but no additional information has been disclosed so far.
