Lakewood, NJ (March 9, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal car accident that took place near an intersection in Lakewood on Wednesday morning, March 9.
According to local officials, the accident happened around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of NJ-9 and Courtney Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to forcefully collide. Both vehicles sustained heavy damages due to the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. One other person was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
The roadway was blocked around the area of the intersection for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
