Hasbrouck Heights, NJ (December 2, 2024) – According to area officials, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Route 46 westbound at the junction of Route 17 on Sunday morning, December 1.
The Hasbrouck Heights Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 46 westbound on Sunday at approximately 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers determined all three occupants of one of the vehicles involved were hurt.
One victim, a 57-year-old man, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was ultimately pronounced dead. Two other occupants of the vehicle were also transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with serious injuries. Both of them are listed in critical and stable condition, respectively.
This continuing investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck alongside the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department under the direction of Chief Joseph Rinke.
