Hamilton, NJ (May 20, 2022) – A 49-year-old man from Hammonton has been hospitalized with critical injuries after he was struck by a car on Thursday, May 19th.
The accident took place at about 7:10 a.m. when officers from the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash involving an injured pedestrian at the intersection of Cantillion Boulevard and Route 40.
An investigation determined that a 2009 Chevy Cobalt driven by a 32-year-old man from Port Norris was heading westbound on Route 40 when his vehicle struck a pedestrian.
According to the Atlantic City Prosecutor’s Office, the victim was walking northbound along Cantillion Boulevard and was attempting to cross Route 40 when he was struck.
The victim was transported by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for immediate treatment of very serious injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was unharmed during the incident.
