Fort Washington, PA (February 19, 2022) – At 5:50 a.m. on Saturday morning, February 19, a car crash with injuries occurred on a highway in Fort Washington.
According to local officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike around the area of the exit for Fort Washington. Several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was completely blocked in the westbound lanes of traffic for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
