Erie, PA (January 4, 2022) – Around noon on Saturday, January 1, several people were hurt in a car accident at an intersection in Erie.
Erie Police confirmed that the accident happened at the intersection of East 6th Street and Bayfront Parkway. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly entered the intersection at the same time. This caused the vehicles to collide forcefully with one another. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the accident.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Four victims, who have not yet been identified, were hurt as a result of the accident. They were rushed to local hospitals for treatment of injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
