Eastampton, NJ (April 8, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal head-on collision that took place on a major roadway in Eastampton on Thursday, April 7.
According to Eastampton Police, the accident happened around 6 p.m. on Route 537. A 52-year-old woman was driving a 1977 Corvette in the area when her vehicle went over the center line and struck an SUV head-on. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained severe damages as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 76-year-old male driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead while there. His 82-year-old female passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries, as well as the driver of the Corvette.
The roadway was blocked in the area of Monmouth Road as police worked to clear the scene.
