Camden, NJ (January 15, 2022) – Around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 15, a police officer was injured in a car accident on a roadway in Camden.
According to local officials, the accident happened at 1200 Kaighn Avenue in the early morning hours. The police cruiser was traveling in the area when it collided with a civilian vehicle due to unknown reasons near the intersection with Mount Ephraim Avenue. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The officer and the civilian in the other vehicle were injured and transported to Cooper Medical Center. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The intersection was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police confirmed that the cruiser had its lights and sirens on at the time of the collision.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
