Aggressive, inventive, and skilled are some of the adjectives clients have used to describe Scott T. Taggart in the courtroom. Since graduating from law school, Scott has concentrated his practice almost exclusively on personal injury litigation, where he has secured over $100 million dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients. As a partner and trial lawyer at Spear Greenfield, Scott always aims to be an advocate for his clients, which has led to his verdicts and settlements being noted in legal publications, as well as other media.
Although Scott is most notably a trial attorney with the firm, he is involved in every aspect of litigation, including depositions, arbitration, mediations, hearings, and conferences. He also helps manage the other aspects of the firm’s cases, including investigations, medical treatment, and expert witnesses. Despite his immense involvement in the legal process, Scott always dedicates time to contacting his clients, so they feel comfortable and are informed of the progress with their case.
Scott became fascinated by the continuous evolution of the law, which he recognized connects the past with the present. His appreciation for law evolved as Scott recognized that the right to a jury trial acted as a great leveler. If applied properly, a citizen and a large corporation are equal and, as such, entitled to fairness under the law. These recognitions motivated Scott to target his academics with the intention of starting a career as an attorney. With his strong desire to help people who were experiencing challenges in life, Scott fulfilled this aim by legally representing people who have suffered life-altering injury.
Scott was born and raised in Philadelphia, where he attended Archbishop Ryan High School, Holy Family University, and Syracuse University College of Law. Scott has also sat as a Judge Pro Tempore and arbitrator for the court. He currently lives in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. During his free time, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife (Lisa) and two daughters (Ella & Ali).
