Pennsylvania’s Automobile Crash & Injury Rate Data
In Pennsylvania, rear-end accidents ranked as the state’s second most frequent kind of car accident in 2014. Every driver should exercise extreme caution on Pennsylvania’s roadways since the state records more than 20,000 accidents annually involving several vehicles.
If you’re driving recklessly, you’ll probably crash into the car in front of you. Rear-end crashes in Pennsylvania are often caused by drivers who disregard traffic signals and signs. Sometimes it’s easy to figure out who’s at fault in a rear-end accident, but other times it’s impossible to piece together what happened before the crash.
When a car’s front end is destroyed, people tend to forget about the back. However, tragic outcomes in situations like head-on crashes are still possible. Even if you’re just slightly rear-ended, you might still suffer serious injuries and expensive property damage.
When another car hits you from behind, the severity of your injuries depends largely on how fast the other car is going. Most rear-end incidents happen when one driver stops unexpectedly, and the car behind them crashes into them. Even low-speed collisions, such as a fender bender, may cause serious harm. When the safety belt is attached, the seat, for instance, will automatically recline. When traveling at high speeds, it’s possible that striking your seat or headrest might cause serious injuries, some of which may not show up for hours or days.
If the accident was not your fault and it seriously injured you, the responsible party must cover your medical costs and lost wages.
An insurance company may look for ways around paying for a car accident victim’s long-term care or lost income and potential if the victim is rendered permanently handicapped as a result of their injuries. Investigating why the victim’s injuries were not their fault might be a component of this process.
